OUR MAKERSPACE SHOP MIGHT BE RIGHT FOR YOU!
The Mind'sEye Manufactory team is keeping an eye out for the finest (and fun-est) artisans and craftspeople in our region to occupy our few remaining artisan workspaces. These spaces are extremely limited, and are not available simply on a first-come-first-served basis. Because we are cultivating our workspaces for artist-makers who will add to the already-extraordinary scene. To put it simply, the Mind's Eye vision needs extraordinary players.
The under-lying creative concept that drives Mind's Eye Manufactory is the synergy and "cross-pollination" of ideas that happen whenever people from different backgrounds work together under one roof. Imagine being a wooden boatbuilder and having an in-house bronze foundry to cast your custom hardware. Or think of the many ways that a furniture maker, a luthier, a blacksmith, a glass sculpture, and a stone carver could help elevate each others' crafts by working along-side each other. At Mind's Eye we aim to propel Creativity "to infinity and beyond"!

Renting a workspace within the
Manufactory gives the artisan:
1. His or her own personal bench area and tool locker
2. Use of the common woodworking and metalworking shop
(access to thousands of dollars' worth of equipment)
3. Storage space for materials and unfinished projects
4. Opportunities to earn extra income by leading workshops
in his or her area of expertise
5. Space for selling products within our high-visibility, high-
traffic Main Street gallery/showroom
6. Web marketing through the Manufactory's website, blog, and
facebook page
7. Friendship, skill-sharing, and collaborative synergy with the
finest craftspeople around
Of the six spaces available inside the main building, three have
been claimed. Among us now are:
True North Arctic Skin Boats; Marc Daniels, owner. Maker of traditional Unangam (Aleut) and Eskimo sea qayaqs and umiaqs. Bringing to Mind's Eye the skills and experiences gained from many years in the Native communities of Alaska and the Northwest.
Jiordi Rosales, Luthier; Maker of fine guitars and other stringed instruments. Bringing to Mind's Eye a passion for wood and a love of music. Jiordi is an inspired maker and talented musician.
Casey Brazfield, woodworker; Casey brings an enthusiasm and sense of wonder to Mind's Eye that is contagious, and a joy to be around. He is currently exploring making furniture out of reclaimed wine cask from his aunt and uncle's Marin County vineyard. Casey is also a talented musician.
Of the five shed spaces available in the
"fire arts" yard area, one has been
claimed. In the yard we have:
Peter Tatum, student welder/metal fabricator; Peter brings to Mind's Eye a bright mind and an uncommon sense of symmetry. He is currently taking metals and welding classes at College of the Redwoods, and comes to us equipped with his own tig-welder and other metals equipment. Peter, too, is a talented and inspired musician (reader should, by now, gather that awesome music jams and live music are the norm around here!).
Mind's Eye Manufactory is a "work in progress", and
is being renovated and developed even as you read this.
Now is the time to get involved, while there's still time to
claim and shape your dream makerscene.
